<image:title>Home - About - Shaina jokes that she is a triple threat - she’s female, South Asian, and a wheelchair-user. A 2020 graduate of USC’s MFA Program in Film and TV Production, her style is bold, quirky, and unapologetic, with her films having screened at Slamdance, ReelAbilities, and Hollyshorts. It was at USC that she also made it her mission to embrace diversity and explore intersectionality within her work, putting actors with disabilities at the forefront of her pieces. Most recently, Shaina graduated from Academy Gold, and wrote on the upcoming Netflix animated series BOONS AND CURSES. She also had the privilege of being a 2021 fellow of the Sundance Institute’s Accessible Futures Initiative for her feature film script AGG. Currently, she is an Inevitable Foundation Fellow. Originally from Elk Grove, near Sacramento in Northern California, Shaina has been featured in Forbes and KVIE Arts Showcase.</image:title>

<image:title>Home - Writing - Shaina has staffed on three Netflix Animation shows - Boons and Curses, Mech Cadets, and most recently Polly Pocket. Her jam is writing about scheming women (like herself) who are disrupting the status quo. She is currently making the transition to live action, and has written a feature film script that has won over 50k in grants. She hopes to direct that in the near future. She is repped by Jeff Portnoy at Bellevue Productions.</image:title>

<image:caption>Agg is about a conservative Punjabi family who decides to trick a man into an arranged marriage by hiding their daughter’s disability. However, the daughter, Agg, has schemes of her own. Being held captive in her room for most of her life, Agg decides the wedding is the perfect time to enact revenge against her abusive family. Will her violent (yet still tasteful) plan help her move from victim to survivor, or is it just going to consume her? In December of 2020, Agg was the recipient of the prestigious SF Film Rainin grant for filmmakers with disabilities. In June of 2021, Agg also got into the Sundance Accessible Futures Initiative, and in July of 2022 Agg was part of the Women In Film and Sundance Financing Lab. Shaina and her two amazing producers K. Giselle Johnson and Jack Walterman plan to shoot in January 2023. FOLLOW US ON INSTAGRAM @Agg_TheFilm CLICK HERE TO DONATE</image:caption>
